The NCAA has “initiated the final steps” in expanding its men’s and women’s basketball tournament to 76 teams, according to a report Tuesday by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Discussions are ongoing, but a final resolution could come as early as mid-May, according to Thamel’s report. The NCAA has already engaged with its tournament media partners, though contracts have reportedly not been signed.
