It won’t go down in the statbook, and some are still questioning whether or not it was fair. Nevertheless, Ryder Burton played a significant role in one of the biggest plays in UAB’s second scrimmage on Saturday.
For a second straight scrimmage, running back Rod Robinson II provided the first touchdown for the Blazers. This time, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Georgia transfer scored on a 20-yard run that saw him cut across the field before beating defenders to the left corner of the end zone. Credit Robinson for the score, but tally an assist for Burton, who provided the lead blocking for his back on the play.
