Sabrina Claudio Seduces Dallas at ‘Fall in Love With Her’ Tour Stop

Some artists possess a vocal prowess that casts a spell we’d all love to be bound by. On the evening of March 8th, Grammy-winning alternative R&B siren Sabrina Claudio arrived at The Echo Dallas and transported fans to her own unique realm of seductive power. She held an entire room captive, and nobody was looking for the exit.

The Fall In Love With Her Tour pulled in beneath the Triple D skyline to deliver an intoxicating ceremony the South Florida-born songstress commands. And Dallas lovers arrived in droves to fall at her feet. The venue was packed, the air electric with anticipation, and the amber lighting bathed the room in the warm, honeyed glow of a late-night confessional. Appropriately, The Echo leaned all the way in, serving attendees delicious food and a signature Sunset Eyes cocktail made with Tito’s Vodka, a Texas-proud double pour for a night that felt tailor-made for the city.

Canadian singer-songwriter Dylan Sinclair warmed the Dallas crowd with his smooth, romantic pop sensibility, setting the perfect mood for the evening ahead.

Then she appeared.

Draped in a silhouette-hugging plum satin and lace gown, this Cuban-Puerto Rican goddess stepped into the light as the crowd erupted in pleasure. There is no other way to describe her presence than gravitational. Part neo-soul priestess, part torch song chanteuse, Claudio owns the stage not through bombast but through restraint, a mastery of negative space that makes every breathy, airy note land with surgical precision. The woman is breathtaking in every sense of the word, and she knows exactly what she is doing with all of it.

Claudio’s signature introspective sound, breathy vocals suspended over stripped-back arrangements of dreamy piano, soft drums, and fuzzed-out guitar, translated live into something even more intoxicating. Each song felt like a secret whispered in golden light, the setlist swinging between melancholy and seduction, leaving the audience pinned in the exquisite inbetween.

Sabrina and her band performed newer material from her fifth studio album Fall In Love With Her, a hazy R&B-laced dreamscape that is romantic, raw, and emotionally unguarded, translated magnificently in the live setting. Need U To Need Me landed like a slow tide rolling in with nowhere to rush, while Before It’s Too Late swelled with an emotional urgency that had audience members clutching their chests and their cocktails in equal measure.

Before releasing her grip on our attention, she reached back to the beginning. Sabrina offered devoted fans the ache of Confidently Lost and the fan-beloved Frozen, both received with the reverence of hymns. The crowd surrendered, every syllable mouthed back to her with the kind of devotion that takes years to earn. Claudio received it all graciously, casually teasing the audience with jokes about her hair and the lighting. Nonetheless, she was flawless.

A credited songwriter on Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Claudio carries her pen game into every performance and you feel it in the bones of each song. In the way her phrasing bends and the weight she gives a single word. The verses hit differently live in a packed room with a stranger beside you mouthing every lyric alongside you.

When Claudio leans into her sensuality, the venue submits to the smoky, slow-burning grooves that have cemented her as one of the most singular and irreplaceable voices in contemporary R&B.

Dallas gave Sabrina Claudio its whole heart Saturday night. But honestly, she had claimed it long before she ever set foot on that stage.
