Independent concert promoter Sean Healy marked 30 years in business with an anniversary celebration recently at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, California. Headlined by The Pharcyde, the event recognized the artists, venues, fans, and industry partners who helped build Sean Healy Presents from its Los Angeles beginnings into a national concert promotion operation.
The anniversary lineup also included DJ B Original, a longtime presence in Southern California’s music and nightlife community. For Healy, the occasion brought the company back to a venue closely associated with its early history.
Founded in 1996, Sean Healy Presents built its business around booking live performances, helping developing artists find audiences and presenting established acts across multiple genres. By its 30th anniversary, the company had produced more than 5,000 concerts, according to its official biography.

A Los Angeles Celebration With The Pharcyde
The Pharcyde – Courtesy of Sean Healy PresentsThe Pharcyde’s role in the anniversary connected the evening to another Los Angeles music story. The Hip Hop group emerged in the 1990s with a distinctive sound reflected in Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde and songs including “Passin’ Me By,” “Runnin’” and “Drop.”
The Troubadour provided a familiar setting for the milestone, bringing the celebration to a room that had featured in Healy’s work with artists over the years.
Ahead of the event, Healy described the significance of the location and headliner.
“For 30 years, Los Angeles has been our home and the foundation of everything we’ve built,” said Healy, founder and president of Sean Healy Presents. “Having The Pharcyde headline our anniversary celebration at the Troubadour feels like a full-circle moment. We’re excited to celebrate with the artists, fans, venues, and industry friends who’ve been part of the journey.”
From Club Stages to Breakthrough Artists
The company’s show history documented a range of bookings that crossed generations and genres.
According to its archive of notable performances, Sean Healy Presents promoted George Clinton & P-Funk at Hollywood’s Martini Lounge in 2000, The Strokes at the Dragonfly in 2001, and OneRepublic, then billed as Republic, at the Viper Room in 2003.
Hip Hop became a substantial part of that history. The archive included Ol’ Dirty Bastard at the Dragonfly in 2004, De La Soul at San Francisco’s Ruby Skye in 2007, and J. Cole at the Key Club in 2010. Kendrick Lamar played the Key Club in 2011, while Future appeared there in 2012.
Those bookings placed emerging performers and established names within the same broader concert promotion operation. The company’s reach also extended beyond Southern California, with shows in markets including Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle and New York.

A History That Crossed Genres
The roster expanded well beyond Hip Hop.
A 2014 Troubadour show listed Robert Glasper, Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, Chris Dave and Lalah Hathaway. That same year, the company’s archive recorded a Phoenix event featuring Jhené Aiko, SZA, Willow Smith, Anderson .Paak and The Internet.
Later bookings included Kehlani at the Roxy in 2015, Daniel Caesar at Oakland’s New Parish in 2017 and Shaboozey at the Mint in 2019.
K-pop also became part of the company’s programming. Its notable shows included Dreamcatcher at Palladium Times Square and LOONA at the Wiltern in 2022, followed by ONEUS at the Apollo Theater in 2023.
In 2025, Sean Healy Presents booked TAEMIN’s sold-out headlining concert at the Kia Forum, according to the company. The performance marked a significant step in an operation whose history included both intimate club shows and larger venues.
Thirty Years Built Around Live Music
The September anniversary brought that history back to the Troubadour. It marked three decades of independent promotion shaped by early artist bookings, returning performers and relationships with venues across the country.
With The Pharcyde headlining, the celebration put Los Angeles at the center of the milestone, honoring the city where Healy founded the company and the wider network that helped it grow.
