SEC ‘deeply disappointed’ in LSU’s motion to dismiss federal lawsuit

The SEC is “deeply disappointment” that LSU has moved to dismiss a federal lawsuit against the school while the two sides work toward a resolution, according to a statement released late Friday.

Earlier in the day, LSU and its named defendants — including football coach Lane Kiffin, athletics Verge Ausberry, school president Wade Rousse and Louisiana attorney general Liz Murrill — filed a motion in federal court in Birmingham. According to a report by Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger, the motion to dismiss cites “no personal jurisdiction over the defendants,” as the suit “fails to state a claim upon which relief can be granted.”
