South Alabama is headed to the NCAA softball postseason for the second time in three years after winning the Sun Belt Conference tournament title on Saturday night.
The fifth-seeded Jaguars knocked off No. 3 Texas State 3-2 at Girouard Field in Lafayette, La., building a three-run lead and then holding on in the late innings. Sydney Scapin and Ryley Harrison combined on the victory in the pitcher’s circle, allowing six hits and striking out 10.
