Artificial intelligence-generated influencers are becoming harder to distinguish from real people online, raising concerns about misleading health advice and questionable products promoted on social media.

Millions of Americans turn to social media every day for entertainment, advice and information — including guidance about their health. But experts warn that a growing number of online “health influencers” are not real people at all, KFF reported. Some are AI-generated personalities created to promote questionable products and spread misleading medical claims.
