Travis Hunter entered his rookie season in the NFL hoping to play more than anyone else.
Instead the Jacksonville Jaguars' two-way player spent his fair share of time on the bench. The rookie was limited to just seven games thanks to a knee injury, which cost the Jaguars a player on both sides of the ball. It was a relatively disappointing season for the former Colorado star, who came into the year with big expectations.
Hunter finished with just 28 catches, 298 receiving yards and one touchdown on offense. He totaled 15 tackles and three passes defended on defense. With plenty of time to recover from the non-contact injury, Hunter will be making his return to the field in 2026, hoping for some better fortune in his second season.

Hunter will be a limited participant in the Jaguars' offseason program, according to general manager James Gladstone.
"He'll be, for all intents and purposes a limited participant throughout the offseason program with eyes on return to play at full tick in training camp," Gladstone told reporters on April 9.

- OTA Offseason Workouts: May 26; May 28-29; June 1-2; June 4; June 15-17
- Mandatory Minicamp: June 9-11
Hunter suffered a torn LCL during practice on Oct. 30 and was placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 9. No injury ever comes at a great time, but it was especially tough for Hunter, who was coming off the best game of his young career against the Los Angeles Rams in London.
It ended what was a challenging season of transition, which was likely not helped by the lack of rhyme or reason in Hunter's usage. Jacksonville appears ready to implement a better plan in 2026, when they'll have a better-defined role for him.
Hunter will be a full-time cornerback and part-time receiver in 2026, according to a report from NFL Media's Cameron Wolfe on Feb. 13.
Now it's just a question of when he'll get started with that new venture.
