Troy relief pitcher Dylan Alonso was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2026 MLB draft on Sunday.
Alonso, a junior from Tiger, Ga., was taken with the 479th overall pick in the 16 round. He was the fourth Trojans player selected in this year’s draft, after shortstop Aaron Piasecki went to Houston in the eighth round, pitcher Benjamin Stubbs was chosen by San Diego in the ninth round and fellow reliever Zach Crotchfelt was picked by the New York Mets in the 14th round.
