UAH president retires after record-setting tenure in Huntsville

As president of The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), Dr. Charles L. Karr enjoys congratulating graduates on commencement day. He has two more opportunities to preside at the ceremonies, fall 2025 and spring 2026, before he retires in May 2026. UAH announced Karr’s retirement plans on Oct. 13, 2025.

The president of the University of Alabama at Huntsville is closing out his final year of service.
