Union-backed candidates win Auburn faculty council seats after senate ends

Five candidates endorsed by Auburn University’s faculty union won spots in the new advisory council that replaced the faculty senate, according to a release from the union.

This week’s presidential academic advisory council election comes one week after faculty protested the dissolution of the faculty senate. State legislation that restricts faculty senate groups did not apply to Auburn, but the board voted unanimously in June to replace it with the new council.
