United Methodists assign new clergy in North Alabama: List of new positions

The Rev. Dr. Kanunu Emmanuel Busambwa, who grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo but has now served as a United Methodist minister in Alabama for more than two decades, will be the new pastor at Pell City First United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2026.

Bishop Jonathan Holston, who oversees United Methodist churches in Alabama, has announced new clergy appointments for more than two dozen churches in the North Alabama Conference.
