United Methodists sell closed church for $3.5 million: What it became, where the money goes

The Alabama-West Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church last year sold the former Aldersgate United Methodist Church campus on Vaughn Road in Montgomery for about $3.5 million, after the conference refused to allow the congregation to disaffiliate.
