Upcoming benefit celebrates icon of Mobile’s Mardi Gras festivities

Somewhere along the way, Chico McCollum went from being a fixture of Mobile’s Mardi Gras celebrations to being an icon. Now he’s recovering from a health setback, and the outpouring of support is so powerful that what started as a benefit has practically turned into a local music festival.
