Safety Brian Branch went down with an Achilles tendon injury in the Detroit Lions’ 44-30 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 4. Without the former Alabama defensive back in the lineup, the Lions lost their next three games to play their way out of postseason contention.
