‘Young Washington,’ film by Birmingham-born director, hits $20 million at box office on opening weekend

A film about the youthful struggles of future Founding Father George Washington, directed and co-written by Birmingham native Jon Erwin, collected more than $20 million in box office receipts during its opening run over the holiday weekend from July 3-5.
