An Alabama woman whose false tip led to Michigan child welfare officials to investigate former U.S. secretary of transportation Pete Buttigieg will not be charged criminally.
Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman told the Indianapolis Star the 50-year-old woman was in Indiana staying with family earlier this year when she called the Indiana Department of Child Services with the bogus tip.
