The NCAA Division I Cabinet has voted unanimously to approve the so-called “age-based eligibility model,” effective immediately.
Under the new policy, athletes will have five years to play five seasons, with no redshirts. Waivers would be granted only in extreme circumstances, such as military service, religion missionary work or pregnancy.
