These states are seeing their worst tick activity in nearly 10 years

Emergency department visits for tick bites have climbed to their highest rate in nearly 10 years, with data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing significant increases across multiple regions of the United States.

Ticks can carry and cause serious diseases, including Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever and tularemia. More species of disease-carrying ticks are spreading across the United States, such as the Asian Longhorned Tick.
