Tuscaloosa wants to shut down apartment complex over $102,000 in unpaid taxes

The city of Tuscaloosa filed a lawsuit Tuesday seeking to immediately shut down student housing complex The Walk Tuscaloosa over allegations of more than $102,000 in unpaid business license taxes and failure to maintain a valid business license.

The complaint, filed in Tuscaloosa County Circuit Court, names Delaware-based entities The Walk ST, LLC and The Walk, DST as primary defendants, along with BankPlus, a Mississippi banking corporation that holds a mortgage on the property.
